Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our engineering finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial management activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. Duties

• Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate purchase ledger and payments
• Manage accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate sales ledger and receipts using Sage 1000
• Manage general ledger processes
• Utilise Sage accounting software to maintain precise financial records.
• Preparing staff payroll using Sage 50 payroll software
• Submitting pension data and dealing with HMRC
• Adminstering death in service scheme
• Administering company insurances
• Maintain bank account cashbook, credit card records and petty cashbook including timely and accurate reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial strategies.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices in financial management
• Prepare and submit digitally quarterly VAT returns
• Administering import and export procedures for goods

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role within the financial services sector
• Proficiency in Sage accounting software essential
• Strong understanding of financial management principles
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
• Experience in mentoring team members and fostering professional development.
• Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes and overall financial operations
• Relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA are desirable but not essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £37,000.00-£50,179.20 per year
