Management Accountant Job in Doncaster – Progression to Financial Controller

Location: Doncaster (Office-Based)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (DOE)

Are you a qualified Management Accountant looking for a Financial Controller career path? Navartis is seeking an ambitious ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant to join our growing finance team in Doncaster.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Management Accountant, Finance Manager, Commercial Accountant or Senior Accountant who wants to develop into a Financial Controller role within the next 12–18 months.

Working closely with the Group CFO, you will take ownership of financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, financial controls and finance team leadership while supporting a profitable international recruitment business experiencing significant growth.About Navartis

The Management Accountant Role

As a Management Accountant based in our Doncaster head office, you will be responsible for delivering accurate management accounts, improving financial processes and controls, supporting strategic decision-making and developing the finance function across multiple group entities.

This position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and provides a clear route into a Financial Controller position.

Key Responsibilities

Management Accounts & Financial Reporting

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts across multiple group entities

• Deliver financial reporting and management information (MI) to support strategic decision-making

• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly reviews

• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls

• Analyse financial performance and provide commercial insight

Financial Control & Governance

• Maintain and strengthen financial controls, processes and governance

• Improve accounting systems and finance procedures

• Support audit preparation and compliance requirements

• Ensure accurate financial records and reporting standards

Finance Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team

• Oversee purchase ledger and day-to-day finance operations

• Build a high-performing and efficient finance department

• Support wider finance function activities including payroll and credit control

Treasury, Tax & Compliance

• Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital

• Oversee VAT, PAYE and support corporation tax processes

• Maintain banking relationships and invoice financing facilities

• Support international and multi-currency transactions

Finance Business Partnering

• Partner with operational and senior leadership teams

• Provide financial analysis and commercial recommendations

• Support business growth initiatives and strategic projects

• Drive continuous improvement across finance operations

What Success Looks Like

Within 12–18 months, you will have:

• Delivered accurate and timely management accounts and financial reporting

• Strengthened financial controls and governance processes

• Developed a highly effective finance team

• Built trusted relationships with the Group CFO and leadership team

• Demonstrated readiness to progress into a Financial Controller role

Management Accountant Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant

• Minimum 5 years’ accounting or finance experience

• Strong management accounts and financial reporting experience

• Previous experience managing or supervising a finance team

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities

• Experience working within a fast-growing commercial business

• Advanced attention to detail and organisational skills

• Ability to improve processes and drive efficiencies
