Job Overview

We are urgently seeking a compassionate and experienced Live-in Care Assistant to provide support for a husband and wife in their own home.

The ideal candidate will have previous live-in care experience, a good understanding of dementia care, and a calm, respectful, and supportive approach. This role would suit someone who is a genuine team player: patient, flexible, reliable, and able to support both clients without being overpowering or overly directive.

Must be available and willing to work a 4-week live-in placement rotation, followed by 4 weeks off.

The successful carer must be confident and happy to cook, support daily routines, and be comfortable taking the family dog for regular walks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care and practical support as required
• Prepare nutritious home-cooked meals and be happy to cook daily
• Take the family dog for walks as part of the daily routine
• Follow and implement person-centred care plans
• Encourage independence while offering calm and respectful guidance
• Maintain accurate care records and report updates
• Communicate effectively with family members, and other professionals supporting the family, colleagues, and healthcare professionals
• Work collaboratively as part of a wider care team

Requirements

• Previous live-in care experience, essential
• Good understanding of dementia support, essential
• Confident and willing to cook, essential
• Comfortable walking and caring around a dog, essential
• Valid DBS on the Update Service, essential – must be active
• Calm, kind, patient, and respectful personality
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to respond to changing needs, flexible
• Basic IT skills for documentation
• Driving licence, advantageous
• Professional, reliable, and compassionate approach

Pay: £125.00 per day
