Landscaping Labourer job at Peterlee Full Time

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Landscape Labourer to join our team in maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces. The successful candidate will assist with various landscaping tasks, ensuring that gardens, parks, and other green areas are kept in excellent condition. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in horticulture, construction, and the use of power tools within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with landscape maintenance including planting, pruning, mowing, and fertilising
• Operating hand tools such as spades, rakes, and shears to support garden care and construction projects
• Using power tools and machinery including excavators and irrigation systems for installation and maintenance tasks
• Supporting the installation of new landscaping features and structures
• Maintaining equipment and tools to ensure safety and efficiency during work
• Assisting with general site clean-up and waste removal to uphold health and safety standards
• Supporting team members in specialised tasks requiring mechanical knowledge or horticultural expertise

Qualifications

• Previous experience or training in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is desirable
• Mechanical knowledge related to garden machinery and power tools is advantageous
• Familiarity with the operation of excavators and irrigation systems is a plus
• Ability to handle hand tools safely and efficiently
• Basic understanding of construction principles related to landscaping projects
• Good organisational skills with an eye for detail in maintaining outdoor environments
• Physical fitness to perform manual labour outdoors in various weather conditions
• A valid PERSON (Personal Identification Number) or relevant certification is preferred but not essential
