Landscaper job at Durham Full Time

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced landscaper with a minimum of 10 years of experience to carry out landscaping duties in the north east and sometimes nationally.

Duties

• Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising to ensure healthy growth and visual appeal
• Operate power tools such as trimmers, blowers, and lawnmowers efficiently and safely
• Assist with construction projects involving the installation of features like patios, pathways, fencing, turfing, artificial grass, and possible water features
• Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and installing components as needed
• Operate heavy machinery including excavators for larger landscaping or construction tasks
• Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
• Assist in the planning and design of landscape layouts with an understanding of landscaping principles
• Ensure all work sites are kept clean and organised to promote safety and efficiency

Skills

• Proven 10 years of experience in landscape installations
• Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, irrigation systems, and heavy machinery such as excavators
• Strong understanding of landscaping principles and plant care techniques
• Ability to perform maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure longevity and safety
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Physical fitness to undertake manual labour including lifting, digging, and operating machinery for extended periods
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions
