Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our kitchen, supporting with food preparation, and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.

Two Positions with Immediate Starts Available

1 Full Time – 30-40 hours per week over 4-5 days

1 Part Time -10 – 20 hours per week over 2 -3 days

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Hygiene:

• Perform daily cleaning of kitchen equipment, surfaces, and floors to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Carry out weekly deep cleaning tasks, including ovens, fridges, extractor fans, and storage areas.
• Wash and properly store all cooking utensils, dishes, glassware, and equipment.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain hygiene standards in line with HACCP guidelines.

Food Preparation:

• Assist chefs with basic food prep duties such as washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, and portioning ingredients.
• Ensure all food preparation areas are kept clean and organised.
• Help with the storage and labelling of food items in accordance with food safety standards.

Support Duties:

• Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and keep waste areas clean.
• Receive and store deliveries correctly, checking for accuracy and freshness.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere.
