Experienced Joiner – Full Time

Stephen Loy Building Services Ltd is seeking an experienced, time-served Joiner to join our growing team on a full-time basis (39 hours per week).

We are a relationship-led specialist contractor delivering refurbishment, fit-out and construction projects across healthcare, care, commercial and high-end residential sectors throughout Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. Our work includes complex renovations, extensions, loft conversions, structural alterations and high-quality fit-out projects.

We’re looking for a skilled joiner who takes pride in his workmanship, has a positive/friendly attitude, and is confident working on a wide variety of projects alongside clients, architects, consultants and fellow tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities

• First and second fix joinery
• Timber frame and timber kit construction
• Floor and roof structures
• Door installation
• Kitchen fitting
• Loft conversions and extension works
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings
• Working as part of a team on complex refurbishment and construction projects

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ time-served experience and relevant qualifications
• Highly competent in all aspects of domestic joinery
• Ability to work from drawings and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail
• Professional, reliable and self-motivated
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Ability to liaise confidently with clients, architects and colleagues
• Strong understanding of current health and safety legislation and safe working practices within the construction industry
• Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential

• Joinery: 3 years (required)
• Carpentry: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

• CSCS (preferred)
• Driving Licence (preferred)
