Lettings Consultant (Japanese Desk)
Reporting to- Harry Foster, Lettings Director (Hampstead)

This sector of the market has been not only extremely difficult to break into but also to maintain a strong presence in over the last 30 years, due to the intrinsic requirements of the Japanese corporate tenants. We have positioned ourselves as the go-to agent for forward-thinking individuals and companies who appreciate the balance of extensive knowledge of Japanese business and cultural practices, alongside unrivalled local knowledge and expertise that helps our Landlords maximise the potential of their rental investments.
The role of Japanese Lettings Consultant is pivotal to maintaining and developing these longstanding relationships and ensuring that David Astburys remains a trusted name in the Japanese Corporate Lettings world.
Responsibilities
As a Japanese Lettings Consultant, you will be responsible for:
- Above all, delivering first-class customer service to our landlords and tenants
- Registering applicants on our database
- Conducting property viewings with senior employees and the families of the corporate clients we service
- Negotiating offers between landlords and prospective tenants
- Facilitating the transition of prospective tenants to the compliance team for referencing
- Coordinating flat preparation prior to scheduled move-ins
- Prompt, professional, and proactive communication with all clients
- Detailed record-keeping with our CRM software
- Participation in community led activities/initiatives held by the company
- Working and speaking directly with the HR departments of the clients we work with (SMBC, Obayashi etc)
- If possible, to be comfortable attending client meetings to meet and discuss opportunities with Japanese clients and corporate relocation agents.
Essential Requirements
- Fluency in both English and Japanese
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ambitious and enjoys working in a target driven environment
- Full, clean driving licence To be discussed in special circumstance
Desirable Requirements
- Good knowledge of the lettings process and current industry laws and regulations
- Willingness to participate in further professional training
