Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive desktop support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
• Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Manage user accounts and permissions using Active Directory and facilitate access via VPNs.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity problems related to LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, and firewall configurations.
• Support server environments such as Microsoft Windows Server and utilise management tools like SCCM and BMC Remedy.
• Monitor and maintain network security protocols, including firewall management and VPN configurations.
• Assist with the setup and troubleshooting of computer hardware components.
• Use ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and Jira to document issues and track resolutions.
• Collaborate with team members to improve IT processes and support documentation.
• Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users to ensure understanding.

Experience

• Proven experience in providing technical support within an IT support or help desk environment.
• Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN, WAN, TCP/IP protocols, DNS, and DHCP.
• Hands-on experience with operating systems such as Windows (including Windows Server), macOS, and Linux.
• Familiarity with Active Directory management and user account provisioning.
• Experience supporting software troubleshooting across various applications including Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, and TCP protocols.
• Experience working with enterprise tools like SCCM, ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to users at all levels.
• Analytical skills for diagnosing complex problems quickly and effectively.

Pay: £24,420.00-£47,054.73 per year
