VAT Accountant | European Jurisdictions – 1 to 3 month contract

Fryer Miles are delighted to be partnering with a well-established global business operating across food, beverage, and energy supply chains in the search for a VAT Accountant to support the clearance of a backlog of historic VAT returns across multiple European jurisdictions.

This is a delivery-focused, hands-on role where you’ll work closely with European VAT fiscal advisers and an in-house finance team to progress filings within a tight timeframe.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and submitting VAT returns across multiple European jurisdictions
• Working through historic VAT data methodically and accurately
• Reconciling VAT balance sheet accounts and preparing supporting journals
• Liaising with external fiscal advisers to ensure timely and compliant submissions
• Flagging any discrepancies or issues to the in-house finance team

We’re keen to speak with candidates who:

• Have practical experience preparing VAT returns (European exposure desirable)
• Are comfortable working through process-driven, detail-focused compliance tasks
• Can hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time
• Are available immediately for a short-term, office-based assignment
• Have experience with Sun Systems (a bonus, not essential)
