Join Our Team
We’re looking for a friendly, reliable and adaptable Hotel Assistant to join our small team at 28 York Place, an award-winning boutique hotel, bar and events venue in Edinburgh’s New Town.
This is a varied role where you’ll work across reception, housekeeping and bar service. No two days are the same and you’ll play an important part in creating a warm and welcoming experience for our guests.

What We Offer
- £13.45 per hour
- A minimum of 16 hours per week, normally across 3 shifts – there may be the option for additional shifts/hours
- Paid holiday leave
- Uniform provided
The Role
You’ll support the day-to-day operation of the hotel by working across a variety of areas, including:
Reception
- Welcoming guests and handling check-ins and check-outs
- Responding to guest enquiries
- Supporting front-of-house operations
Housekeeping
- Cleaning and preparing guest bedrooms and public areas
- Assisting with breakfast preparation
- Handling linen deliveries and maintaining stock levels
Bar & Events
- Serving drinks in Bar28
- Assisting with functions and events
- Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment
Full training will be provided. Previous experience in all areas is not required.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Enjoys working with people and providing excellent customer service
- Has good attention to detail
- Is reliable and organised
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Is adaptable and happy to support different areas of the business
Previous hospitality experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
Pay: £13.45 per hour
