We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting residents’ wellbeing, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring specialised care, including individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other health conditions. The role requires a caring attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised care plans tailored to each individual’s needs, including medication administration and daily activities support
• Assist with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support residents with mobility and movement, including heavy lifting when necessary
• Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary requirements and assist residents during mealtimes
• Monitor and record health status, behaviour management issues, and any changes in condition
• Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental wellbeing
• Administer first aid when required and respond effectively to emergencies
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided in compliance with legal and organisational standards
• Support residents with activities that promote social engagement and independence
• Assist with transportation or driving duties for appointments or outings as needed
• Uphold dignity, respect privacy, and foster a positive environment for all residents

Experience

• Previous experience working within a care home, nursing home or home care setting is highly desirable
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, and senior care practices
• Experience in medication administration and understanding of medical terminology is advantageous
• Familiarity with behaviour management strategies and case management processes
• Certification or training in first aid is preferred but not essential; training can be provided for successful candidates without prior certification
• Experience with meal preparation, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and supporting individuals with complex health needs is beneficial
• Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving patient transportation or community visits

Pay: £24,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
