Job Summary

We are recruiting two experienced Health Care Assistants to support a gentleman who is quadriplegic due to a stroke, living in Norbury SW16 (5 minutes walk from the train station). Please ensure you can comfortably travel to this part of London.
He has full mental capacity and is an active participant in his own care. You will be working alongside another carer in his luxury home gym, providing hands-on support during his daily rehabilitation sessions.
The role is a 4-hour shift, 1.30pm – 5.30pm, with 1 hour of physiotherapy in the middle. seven days a week, and will be split between two staff members on a rota basis.

Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the lead Care Assistant during gym-based physiotherapy session.
- Safe hoisting and transfers to and from gym equipment in line with his care plan
- Supporting positioning, stabilisation, and limb handling during exercises
- Monitoring the service user throughout the session and reporting any changes in condition.
- Personal care, including washing, dressing, and grooming as required around the session, this may include occasional toileting.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of paid care experience
- Hands-on experience delivering or assisting with physiotherapy exercises, rehabilitation, or active mobility work
- Competency in moving and handling / use of hoists
- A patient, respectful, and professional approach
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Proactive and good work ethic
- Current DBS Certificate
- Evidence of qualifications and training

Pay: £16.53 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 16.0 per week
