Full job description

We are looking for a HCA with phlebotomy qualifications to join our team. The successful candidate will be able to reassure the patient in a friendly and professional manner demonstrating interpersonal skills.

Our main need is to perform venepuncture to obtain blood samples and if a HCA collect other required samples/undertake tests.

Experience of working in a general practice treatment room is desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Patients care and uphold the practices high standards.

· Clinical duties: Taking blood pressure, height and weight measurements.

· Administration of B12, Shingles, Flu vaccines is a desired skill but not essential if open to additional training.

· Undertaking ECGs for GP to review as required.

· INR monitoring procedures.

· Use the IT system efficiently to ensure that alerts are actioned for optimum patient care.

· Communicating with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.

· To help maintain stock levels and put deliveries away as needed.

· To ensure that fridge temperatures are regularly monitored.

· Infection control: Adhering to strict hygiene and safety protocols.

· To undertake basic wound care and suture/clip removal.

· Urinalysis
