Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in IT, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Experience in care environments and driving is advantageous but not essential. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication reminders
• Support the implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each person’s needs
• Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
• Promote independence and dignity among those in your care
• Assist with light domestic tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment
• Support clients with home care routines, including meal preparation and light housekeeping tasks
• Drive as required to support clients’ appointments or outings (driving licence preferred)

Experience

• Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
• Good understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately
• Proficiency in IT systems used for record keeping and communication
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
• Driving experience and a valid driving licence are advantageous for roles involving travel between locations
