General Builder job at London Full Time

We are looking for an experienced General Builder to join our delivery team on a range of residential and commercial projects across the South East. This is a labour-only role with materials supplied, offering consistent work on well-managed sites.

The successful candidate will be capable of leading works on site, coordinating with other trades, and delivering high-quality workmanship to programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of general building works including:
• Demolition and strip-out
• Brickwork and blockwork
• Joinery (1st and 2nd fix)
• Plastering and making good
• Basic groundworks and concreting
• Act as the lead operative on site when required
• Work independently or as part of a wider site team
• Coordinate day-to-day activities with subcontractors and specialist trades
• Ensure works are completed safely, to specification, and to programme
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
• Communicate effectively with site management and clients where necessary

Requirements

• Proven experience as a general builder across multiple trades
• Comfortable working alone or managing small teams
• Ability to read and work from drawings and specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Own tools suitable for general building works
• Own transport and willingness to travel regionally
• Valid CSCS card (preferred)
• Clear DBS check required (or willingness to obtain one)
• UTR number and ability to work under CIS
