About Selene Consort
We are a small 1-2 to a part vocal consort founded in Oxford in 2022. Since 2024 we have developed a specialism in the music of the Eton Choirbook. The group’s Musical Director is Daniel Gilchrist
About the job
This contract would principally involve fundraising, promotion of the group, and administration and management of engagements
Location & commitments
· Up to 8 hours a week, spread throughout the week to ensure continuity of communication with sponsors/venues.
· Regular meetings (in person/virtual) with the Musical Director
· Occasional evening work (presence at concerts)
· To be engaged on a self-employed basis for an initial contract of 6 months; thereafter to turn into a (possibly expanded) permanent job, depending on fundraising success
Key areas of Responsibility
· Working towards financial sustainability of the group by making successful funding applications and seeking sponsorship.
· Managing the website and social media; promotion of the group by digital and other means
· Events management-supporting the group administratively to prepare for concerts/tours
· Working with the musical director to seek further opportunities for the group, and to enable the growth of the group’s profile.
Requirements of applicant
Experience of fundraising/writing funding applications
Knowledge of/Experience of the English choral music
Good communication skills
Expertise in social media (desirable)
