Food Service Assistant – Arancini & Street Food job at Canary Wharf Full Time

Job Summary We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to join our team at Ka Nokka, a London street food concept specialising in freshly made arancini and Italian-inspired food. This role involves preparing and serving our food in a fast-paced environment across our sites in the West End and Canary Wharf. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, reliable, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. (At our Shaftesbury Avenue location, the role also includes serving alcoholic beverages in line with our premises licence.)

Duties

• Prepare and serve arancini, street food items, and other menu offerings to our quality and food safety standards
• Serve customers efficiently and courteously at the counter, ensuring a positive experience every time
• Process orders accurately using our point-of-sale card payment system (we are a fully cashless business)
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and serving areas in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Support stock replenishment and ensure ingredients and supplies are available for daily operations
• Follow all food safety procedures including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
• Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively with colleagues and management

Requirements

• Full right to work in the United Kingdom (essential)
• A current Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate, or willingness to obtain one before starting
• Previous experience in a food service, hospitality, or street food environment is preferred but not essential — full training will be provided
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
• Excellent customer-facing manner and a proactive, team-oriented attitude
• Reliable and punctual — if you commit to a shift, we count on you

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
