Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance / Sales & Procurement Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support key financial processes while assisting with sales and supply chain activities to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance Duties

• Process BACS payments, cheques, and prepare banking transactions
• Carry out bank transfers and perform bank and nominal ledger reconciliations
• Manage credit control activities and monitor cash flow
• Assist in securing competitive exchange rates for foreign currency transactions
• Process supplier invoices and payments (accounts payable)
• Support month-end closing procedures
• Submitting VAT on a quarterly basis to HMRC
• Maintain accurate financial records, filing, and document archives
• Respond to accountants queries professionally

Sales & Procurement Duties

• Process sales and purchase orders accurately and efficiently
• Raise and process sales and purchase invoices
• Report discrepancies and feedback to the suppliers
• Book in deliveries from Suppliers with the couriers
• Liaise with warehouse staff to coordinate goods-in and goods-out activities
• Respond to customer enquiries and handle complaints in a professional manner

Key Requirements

• Proven experience with Sage50 accounting software
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Outlook and Windows 10 & 11
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
