Role Overview
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations across the MPW Group, including its property and asset management portfolio and consultancy business. The consultancy business was launched just under two years ago and has recently expanded with the addition of a new division, complementing its existing services and enabling a full-circle approach to regeneration. This is a busy and exciting time for the business as it expands its services UK wide. This role requires strong expertise in property finance, including rent and service charge collection, reconciliations, and income management, alongside broader group financial oversight. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, and robust financial controls across all business units.
Key Responsibilities:
Property & Asset Management Finance Oversee the financial management of the property portfolio, including:
● Rent collection and monitoring arrears
● Service charge budgeting, collection, and reconciliation
● Tenant account management and billing accuracy
● Use and management of property management software
● Prepare and produce accurate financial reports and statements
● Manage and reconcile service charge accounts in line with regulatory and lease requirements
● Lead on re-billing processes and ensure timely and accurate recharges to tenants
● Monitor and report on income streams including:
● Ancillary income (e.g. advertising, licences)
● Car park income, including reconciliation and optimisation
● Work closely with property managers to ensure financial alignment with operational performance
Group Financial Management (MPW Group)
Take ownership of all financial activities across the MPW Group, including:
● Monthly management accounts
● Budgeting and forecasting
● Cash flow management
● Develop external relationships with auditor, solicitors, bankers and other statutory organisations.
● Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to senior leadership
● Maintain strong financial controls and compliance across all entities
● Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions
● Manage group consolidations where applicable
Consultancy Business
Finance Oversee financial operations of the consultancy arm, including:
● Project costing and profitability analysis
● Revenue recognition and invoicing
● Monitoring project margins and financial performance
● Support business growth through financial insight and reporting
Key Skills & Experience
● Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) preferred
● Self-starter with an improvement mindset
● Strong experience in property or asset management finance
● Proven track record in service charge accounting and rent management
● Experience managing multiple income streams including ancillary and commercial income
● Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting, and compliance
● Advanced Excel and financial systems skills
● Experience with Xero is preferred
● Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
