Delivery Driver – M R Ellis Timber Ltd | Norfolk

M R Ellis Timber Ltd is a long-established, family-run sawmill based in Norfolk, specialising in fencing, landscaping timber, and kiln-dried firewood. We’re proud of what we do, proud of our products, and proud of the close-knit team that keeps everything running smoothly.
About the Role
As our Delivery Driver, you’ll be the face of the business out on the road — delivering fence panels, concrete products, landscaping timber, and seasonal firewood to our customers across the local Norfolk area. You’ll be driving a 3.5-tonne truck and towing a trailer on larger orders, up to a combined gross weight of 7.5 tonnes.
No two days are quite the same. Spring and summer bring a steady flow of fencing orders; come autumn and winter, kiln-dried firewood takes centre stage. On quieter delivery days, you’ll pitch in with tasks around the sawmill site — keeping things varied and the day moving.
We’re realistic about workload. No day will ever be overloaded, and drops are always arranged so there’s someone at the destination to assist — you’ll never be expected to handle heavy or unsafe loads alone.
What We’re Looking For
- A full, clean driving licence
- Experience driving light goods vehicles and towing a trailer (up to 7.5 tonnes combined gross)
- Good physical fitness and strength — deliveries are manually unloaded
- Reliability, punctuality, and sharp timekeeping — our customers count on us
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to muck in when needed
