Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Exports Clerk to join an expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment.

The Role

You will play a key role in ensuring export shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly, and to a high standard of customer service. Working closely with the China export team, you will coordinate shipments, manage documentation, and liaise with internal teams, customers, and overseas agents.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate export shipments to China and Nigeria, including collections via approved hauliers/couriers
• Manage and upload all relevant documentation and communications to Boxtop for audit compliance
• Issue export entries accurately using CDS/Sequoia
• Handle transhipments for Nigeria
• Liaise with warehouses regarding inbound deliveries from UK suppliers and third parties
• Ensure shipments are completed correctly and within required timeframes
• Maintain excellent communication with customers and overseas agents, providing updates and resolving issues
• Ensure invoicing is completed accurately and in a timely manner, in line with AEO and compliance procedures
• Support, mentor, and train junior team members
• Keep internal training and compliance knowledge up to date

Key Skills

• Previous experience in export operations (essential)
• Strong understanding of international trade and compliance requirements
• Proficient in export systems such as CDS/Sequoia (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Highly organised with strong time management skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Calm under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines
• Proactive, adaptable, and solution-focused
• Strong IT skills and attention to detail
