E-Commerce/ Online Sales Assistant job at Colchester Full Time NEW

Job Summary
This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring our customers enjoy a seamless shopping experience from browsing to delivery. You will work across platforms including eBay, Amazon, Shopify and the company website, maintaining our online presence, and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Upload, update, and maintain product listings (descriptions, images, prices, and stock levels) across various online sales channels, ensuring accuracy and optimisation, including eBay, Amazon and Shopify.
• Ensure all online content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with brand guidelines.
• Monitor product availability and coordinate with internal teams to maintain stock accuracy.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries via email, telephone calls, live chat, and social media.
• Process orders, returns, refunds, and exchanges efficiently.
• Provide product* advice and recommendations to support sales and enhance customer experience. *product education will be provided
• Resolve customer issues professionally and in a timely manner.
• Process online orders and ensure all details are accurate.
• Liaise with warehouse and delivery partners to book and track shipments and resolve issues.
• Keep customers informed about order status and delivery updates.
• Monitor industry trends and competitors’ activities to identify new opportunities for growth.
• Support the team in organisational tasks ensuring smooth daily operations.

Skills

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
• Comfortable working with e-commerce platforms (e.g. eBay, Amazon, Shopify or similar).
• Basic understanding of online retail and digital sales processes.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple listings, customer queries and tasks simultaneously.
• Proactive, solution-focused attitude.
• Organised, reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic photo editing or Adobe Photoshop skills for online platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Confident using computers, spreadsheets and online systems.
• Effective communications skills in English.

Desirable (but not essential)

• Basic knowledge of SEO and product optimisation.
• Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).
• Social media or marketplace promotion experience.

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
