Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Demolition Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with building deconstruction projects, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and supporting skilled trades in various demolition tasks. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and eager to learn new skills within the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the safe demolition of structures, including stripping out fixtures and materials.
- Use hand tools and power tools to dismantle buildings or parts of buildings in accordance with project specifications.
- Support trades such as carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers during renovation or demolition activities.
- Clear debris and organise site materials to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to minimise risks on-site.
- Assist in the setup and dismantling of scaffolding or temporary structures as needed.
- Support fabrication tasks or material handling where required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in construction-related roles is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in demolition work.
- Familiarity with construction sites and safety procedures is preferred.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labour for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant skills such as carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical experience, or fabrication are desirable but not mandatory.
