Day Nursery Manager job at Andover Full Time

The Role

We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and confident Nursery Manager to lead our well-established setting at Blooming Kids.

Our provision operates across two nearby sites:

• Wellington Centre (Under 3s)
• Harris Hall (3–5 years)

This is one setting across two locations, supported by a strong and established team.

This role would suit an experienced Nursery Manager or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step up into a leadership role.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the overall leadership and quality of both sites, ensuring high standards of care, education, and compliance are maintained throughout.

You will be supported by:

• A dedicated Deputy Manager based at Wellington Centre (4 days per week)
• Experienced teams across both sites

The role is structured to be manageable and balanced, with your main base at Harris Hall (3–5s) and regular support provided at Wellington Centre.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, motivate and develop a committed early years team
• Provide clear guidance and support across all age groups
• Conduct supervisions, appraisals, and training
• Promote a positive and professional team culture
• Manage staffing ratios and rotas effectively

Quality of Care & Education

• Ensure high-quality practice in line with the EYFS across both sites
• Support strong teaching, learning, and child development
• Monitor planning, observations, and assessments
• Drive continuous improvement across the setting

Safeguarding & Compliance

• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
• Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and Ofsted requirements
• Maintain accurate records, policies, and procedures
• Lead Ofsted inspections and implement action plans

Parent Partnerships

• Build strong, positive relationships with families
• Support transitions and settling-in processes
• Handle enquiries and feedback professionally

Operational Management

• Oversee occupancy, admissions, and nursery performance
• Manage budgets and staffing effectively
• Ensure both environments are safe, stimulating, and well-resourced

Essential Requirements

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years
• Previous experience as a Nursery Manager or strong Deputy Manager
• Strong knowledge of EYFS across all age groups
• Proven leadership and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and team management ability
• Enhanced DBS
• Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification if not already held (support will be provided)

Desirable

• Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management
• Experience leading a Good or Outstanding Ofsted setting
• Paediatric First Aid
• SENCO or DSL experience
