Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Case Worker/Paralegal to join our team. Responsibilities

• Opening files using case management software and sending letters to clients
• Managing the diary to coordinate court attendances/prison visits
• Booking prison visits ( also attending prison visits – video and in person to take instructions.
• Read and consider case papers to prepare cases for hearings/trials
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Coordinate with external agencies and organisations to facilitate access to services such as liaising with chambers and briefing counsel.
• applying for legal aid /prior authority
• Monitor client progress regularly, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
• chase police station bail to returns and liaise with police and client
• Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about best practices and organisational policies.
• Manage your workload efficiently through effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
• attending at the crown court/in conferences to assist counsel
• opportunities for police station accreditation.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
• Academic qualifications –
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) with strong organisational skills.
• Fluency in English is essential; additional languages are a plus.
• Good IT skills with the ability to adapt to new software or systems as required.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
• Proven time management skills to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
