Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and motivated Clinical Supervisor to support and oversee clinical operations within our independent ambulance service. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of patient care, clinical governance, staff development, and operational readiness across both frontline and event environments.

This is a paid position suited to a clinically competent and professional individual with strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentoring and developing healthcare professionals within a fast-paced ambulance setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring compliance with organisational policies, CQC standards, and healthcare regulations
• Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to paramedics, technicians, ECAs, students, and newly qualified staff members
• Conduct regular clinical supervision sessions and provide constructive feedback to support professional development
• Carry out controlled drugs audits and ensure compliance with medicines management policies and procedures
• Teach, assess, and support staff in maintaining clinical competencies and mandatory skills
• Assist with the induction and mentoring of new starters within the organisation
• Participate in recruitment activities, including interviewing and assessing prospective staff members
• Conduct clinical audits and reviews to maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical practice
• Ensure accurate completion and review of patient care records and associated documentation
• Support the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and improvement initiatives
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, operational management, and external stakeholders
• Maintain effective communication with frontline crews and operational staff
• Undertake operational duties in line with business demands, including frontline ambulance work and event medical cover, to maintain clinical competency and operational awareness
• Support management with additional duties and projects as required

Experience & Skills

• Qualified and experienced Paramedic
• Proven experience within an ambulance emergency care
• Current HCPC registration
• Previous experience in a supervisory, mentoring, or leadership role is highly desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and support teams effectively
• Experience in teaching, assessing, and developing clinical staff
• Knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety, and medicines management processes
• Ability to remain calm, organised, and professional within high-pressure operational environments
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• A proactive and flexible approach to operational and clinical service delivery
