Hill Bookkeepers is a growing UK bookkeeping firm providing bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, management reporting and finance support to businesses across the UK.
We pride ourselves on being more than just bookkeepers. We act as a trusted finance partner to our clients, helping them stay organised, understand their numbers and make better business decisions.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a friendly, professional and commercially minded person to become the first point of contact for new enquiries and help convert prospects into long-term clients.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the journey from initial enquiry through to signed engagement.
Most enquiries are warm leads generated through referrals, marketing, networking, website enquiries and existing partnerships.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to new email enquiries
- Conducting discovery calls with prospective clients
- Reviewing Xero and QuickBooks files
- Understanding client bookkeeping requirements
- Providing indicative pricing and service recommendations
- Preparing and sending proposals
- Following up outstanding quotations
- Coordinating onboarding once a prospect becomes a client
- Maintaining accurate CRM and pipeline records
- Working closely with the business owner to continually improve the sales and onboarding process
- Supporting client relationship and business growth activities where appropriate
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working within a bookkeeping, accountancy or finance environment
- Good understanding of Xero (essential)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence speaking with business owners
- Good commercial awareness
- Excellent organisation and follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently from home
Desirable
- Experience in an accountancy practice or bookkeeping firm
- Knowledge of VAT, payroll and management accounts
- Experience preparing quotes or proposals
- Familiarity with property investors, landlords and SMEs

Within your first few months, you will be confidently:
- Handling enquiries independently
- Running discovery calls without supervision
- Producing accurate quotations
- Improving enquiry-to-client conversion rates
- Delivering an excellent first impression of Hill Bookkeepers
- Supporting a smooth onboarding experience for new clients
