The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in creating a safe, stable and nurturing home for children and young people.

You will support with daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education, life skills and positive experiences — while building strong, trusting relationships that help young people grow in confidence and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Build positive, meaningful relationships with children and young people
• Provide consistent, child-focused care tailored to individual needs
• Support routines including school, appointments and daily living
• Promote emotional wellbeing using trauma-informed approaches
• Respond to behaviour with patience, understanding and consistency
• Contribute to a warm, safe and structured home environment
• Complete accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures

Experience & Skills (Essential)

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals (desirable)
• Understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice

• Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins
• Full UK driving licence (desirable/essential depending on role)

Qualifications (Desirable)

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)

Safeguarding

Pay: £13.90-£15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week
