Bookkeeper job at Derby Full Time

How High Brands is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team on a part-time basis.

We are seeking someone who is meticulous, conscientious, and highly organised, with a strong eye for detail and accuracy. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping financial records precise, organised, and up to date.

Role Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and finance administration
• Processing purchase invoices, sales invoices, payments, and receipts
• Performing bank reconciliations and monitoring company accounts
• Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
• Assisting with VAT returns and monthly reporting
• Monitoring cash flow and highlighting discrepancies
• Liaising with suppliers and handling finance-related queries
• Supporting accountants with year-end preparation
• General administrative support related to finance operations

Experience & Skills Required

• Previous experience in a bookkeeping, accounts assistant, or finance administration role
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes
• Experience managing invoices, reconciliations, and expense tracking
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets and financial systems
• Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Highly organised with the ability to manage workload independently
• Professional, reliable, and trustworthy
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information
• Knowledge of Xero is an advantage, but not essential, as training can be provided
• Experience working within a small business or fast-paced environment would be beneficial

Working Hours

• Part-time: 3–4 days per week
• Approximately 12–16 hours per week
• Flexible working arrangements may be considered
