Job Title: Bookkeeper with Xero & CIS experience

Location: UK only, remote work from home

Reports to: Head of Finance

Job Type: Part-time (UK mornings preferred)

Salary: £18-20 p.h. (based on experience)

About Us:

Our company is a finance business dealing with a range of clients. We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to work with our clients in day-to-day financial transactions, payroll and invoicing, using Xero and Sage.

Job Overview:

You will be responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring the smooth processing of all transactional data. You will work closely with clients to ensure that financial transactions are timely and accurate. Our clients expect us to be correct, so attention to detail and accurate work are a fundamental requirement. Working hours are flexible but do need to overlap with the normal UK working day (morning preferred) to deal with client actions and questions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounting Records Management:

o Manage the end-to-end capture of client and supplier invoicing, using Xero.

o Post journals, run reports, answer queries and deal with client finances.

o Assist the financial controller to keep accurate books and records.

o Maintain and update financial records in Xero, including data entry for expenses, receipts, and payments.

o Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other financial accounts.

o Ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with company procedures and tax guidelines.

o Maintain accurate records of all suppliers and customers in Xero.

o Coordinate with the business on invoicing, payments, and credits.

o Provide internal stakeholders with necessary reports on financial transactions and outstanding invoices.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Xero is essential.
• A solid understanding of accounting and finance principles, tax regulations, and VAT processes.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to deliver against clients’ expectations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
