ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT (LONDON):
YOUR MISSION
The mission of the Accounts Assistant is to carry out accounting and administrative duties in support of the Finance team, in alignment with the Company’s sustainability values.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The main areas of responsibility will include Accounts Receivable, reconciliation of e-commerce activity, and support with treasury management.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Process customer receipts across all channels
Maintain customer accounts and ensure that receipts and credit notes are fully matched to invoices
Maintain e-commerce receivables, including weekly reconciliations of associated PSP accounts such as PayPal, Shopify, and Klarna
Maintain Direct Debit wallet and bank accounts, and resolve related queries. Carry out monthly maintenance of bank accounts and PDQ receipt reconciliations
Provide support to the Finance team with ad hoc tasks relating to monthly internal reporting and the annual statutory audit
Work closely with the Customer Care team to resolve customer queries, including those relating to e-commerce
Provide support with Accounts Payable tasks, including posting supplier invoices and supplier payments when required, for example as part of holiday cover
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Customer Care, Sales, and Education
Support the Financial Controller with other ad hoc tasks as they arise, including profit and loss analysis and maintaining control accounts
This role is based in our London office, and the successful candidate will report to the Financial Controller.
WHO YOU ARE:
2–4 years’ accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience. Educated to accounting technician level, or able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, work to defined deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively towards shared objectives
Knowledge of accounting systems and procedures, preferably Sage ERP X3, together with excellent time management skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables
