Accounts and Tax Semi Senior job at London Full Time NEW

We are looking to recruit an experienced and reliable “Accounts and Tax Semi Senior” to join our practice.

This role is suited to a candidate with solid experience in a UK accountancy practice environment who can confidently manage compliance work across accounts, corporation tax, personal tax, bookkeeping, and VAT returns with minimal supervision.

Main Duties:

• Preparation and submission of personal tax returns, including MTD quarterly updates.
• Preparation of limited companies accounts using TaxCalc
• Preparation and submission of corporation tax returns using TaxCalc
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns with Bookkeeping using Xero
• Liaising directly with clients to request records and resolve queries
• Assisting with general practice and administrative duties where required

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a UK-based accountancy practice
• Strong working knowledge of:
• TaxCalc (Personal Tax, Company Accounts & Corporation Tax)
• Xero (Bookkeeping and VAT)
• Experience preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and landlords
• Good understanding of UK tax compliance and HMRC requirements
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently to manage a small portfolio of clients
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Essential Requirements:

• Must have the right to work full-time in the UK
• No sponsorship will be offered for this role

Desirable:

• AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA / ACA
• Experience dealing with owner-managed businesses
• Exposure to payroll and company secretarial work would be advantageous
