Accountant job at London Full Time

Robert Half Finance & Accounting are partnering with a Pharmaceutical company in London to recruit an immediate interim Accountant for 3 months.

Role:

Our client is looking for an immediate interim Accountant to assist them for 3 months. You will be responsible for following duties:

• Monthly preparation of variance analyses and reconciliation of supporting schedules for assigned balance / P&L accounts.
• Posting of approved journal entries into our financial system (NetSuite), including bi-weekly payrolls (for the US /Canada), monthly payrolls (for the UK and all other international locations), and ad-hoc payrolls (as needed).
• Record staffing costs to appropriate business units / cost centers within NetSuite including journals for ancillary compensation (accrued bonus, PTO, severance), employee benefits (healthcare / BUPA / Medi-Cash, UK pension / US 401k, short term / long term disability), related / employee payroll deductions, vacation and other accruals.
• Monthly reconciliation of final payroll files (from all international payroll bureaus) to staff costs recorded in NetSuite on a monthly and YTD basis. This also includes updating our rolling payroll / staffing cost analyses used for FP&A purposes.
• Preparation of balance sheet notes and reconciliation to underlying schedules.
• Support the annual financial statement audit & other compliance functions as directed.
• Support general accounting requests from FP&A, external payroll agents, tax advisors, and others as needed.
• Prepare analyses of healthcare costs for use in the production of claims incurred but not yet reported (IBNR) models (a/k/a estimating health insurance claim liabilities).
• Reconcile monthly VAT control accounts; Prepare monthly VAT return for the UK group of Envision Companies; Compile information for quarterly VAT returns (Netherlands); Coordinate and support third parties in reporting business activities for international subsidiaries (Japan, Australia and Portugal).
• Review and authorization of certain returns such as Australia BAS.
• Actively participate in process improvement initiatives and implementation of better business practices via usage of technology.
• Support preparation of UK indirect tax returns, such as P11D and PSA.
• Generate invoices as required for transfer pricing activities / compliance (as needed) for the Company’s related party and intercompany transactions (and ultimate balance reconciliation / settlement).
• Ensure Portugal benefits Coverflex portal is reviewed to ensure sufficient funds in account.
• Other ad hoc activities requested by leadership.

Profile:

The successful interim Accountant will have 3+ years experience.

You must be immediate or 1 weeks notice to be considered for this role.

Salary & Benefits:

This role is paying between £225-300 per day umbrella dependant on experience.
