Cash Accounting Assistant (part time 20 hours per week) job at Walsall Full Time NEW

Join us here at Poundland & Dealz as an Assistant Cash Accountant, on a part time basis working 20 hours per week based at our Walsall Support Centre, working in a hybrid pattern of a minimum of 2- 3 days onsite per week. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the day-to-day cash accounting operation, ensuring bank reconciliations, cash book entries and treasury activities are completed accurately and on time across multiple corporate and retail bank accounts.

With the support to succeed from day one, you’ll work closely with colleagues across Finance, Treasury, Accounts Payable and Payroll to maintain accurate financial records and resolve outstanding transactions efficiently. You’ll be responsible for preparing and uploading daily banking files into Oracle, reconciling cash book entries, supporting month-end processes, managing inter-account transfers and assisting with treasury reporting activities. You’ll also provide support with credit card administration, audit queries, cash flow reporting and a variety of ad hoc banking activities, helping to keep our finance operation running smoothly.

We’re looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You’ll ideally be studying towards AAT, be AAT qualified, or have equivalent experience, with good Excel skills and a proactive, team-focused approach.
