PRN and PERN Expert job at London Full Time NEW

We’re looking for a Packaging Recovery Note (PRN) and Packaging Export Recovery Note (PERN) Expert for our public sector client on a 12-month contract (Inside IR35).

This role is hybrid, with 3 days per week on-site at one of the following locations: Bristol, London, Newcastle or York.

The successful PRN and PERN Expert will be a proactive, analytically strong professional with a solid understanding of how PRN and PERN markets function across different materials. You will drive forward work to improve transparency and reduce price volatility in the PRN market, working closely with regulators, economists, stakeholders and digital colleagues to develop practical data-sharing solutions and policy measures.

You will need proven experience working with the following:

• A strong working knowledge of the PRN and PERN system, including how markets for different materials function
• Experience trading PRNs or PERNs, or working closely within packaging waste compliance
• Analysis and decision-making, balancing benefits, costs and practical challenges to reach deliverable recommendations
• Stakeholder engagement across a broad range of organisations, building consensus and shared understanding
• Scoping and developing plans that involve data, regulatory and policy workstreams
