Project Manager (Construction) job at Hemel Hempstead Full Time

We are looking for a Project Manager (civils) to join our team. J&J Palmer Groundworks are a family run civil engineering and groundworks subcontractor, working for major contractors on projects in the South East, London and the Midlands. The role will be to manage the operational side of numerous projects or one larger project, including but not limited to;

· Overseeing and driving health, safety, and quality standards on site

· Overseeing and driving project programme and progress

· RAMS / Works Package Plans / Task Briefings

· Lift Plans

· Project programmes

· Short term programmes

· Resource planning/management

· Material procurement/management

· Quality management including Inspection Test Plans / Work Inspection Sheets

· Technical reviews / RFIs

· Site measures

· Site/progress/programme meetings

· Working alongside the commercial team / early warnings / change management

· Assisting with tenders, tender programmes, technical reviews

· Record keeping

· General project administration

· Manage staff

The role will be a mix of site and office based, on numerous projects or one larger project. Current and upcoming projects are in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Essex, Berkshire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire, with our head office in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

Candidates will require;

· A minimum of 10 years experience within the UK civil engineering sector, ideally groundworks

· Site based experience

· Experience working for a contractor or subcontractor

· Relevant CSCS card

· SMSTS or SSSTS

· Full clean driving licence

· Ability producing and updating programmes using MS Project or similar

· Good communication of oral and written English

· Good people, management, and organisational skills

· Good commercial awareness

· Be willing to travel between projects and our head office – projects are generally within 1-1.5 hours of Hemel Hempstead

Package;

· Full time

· Standard hours 10 hours per day, Monday to Friday, 1 hour break per day, hours flexible by agreement

· Salary is negotiable, range £65,000 – £75,000 package

· Works vehicle or car allowance
