Gateman/woman job at London Full Time

We are seeking a responsible, reliable, and professional Gateman/Woman to oversee access control at construction sites or private premises. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and vehicles, ensuring smooth and secure operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.

The position is paid and requires an individual with a keen eye for security and safety protocols. Candidates must have a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control entry and exit points, ensuring only authorised personnel and vehicles gain access
• Greet visitors courteously and provide necessary directions or assistance
• Maintain accurate records of visitors, deliveries, and vehicle movements
• Conduct routine checks of the access area to ensure safety standards are upheld
• Communicate effectively with site managers, security personnel, and visitors using clear English
• Operate relevant access control equipment such as barriers, CCTV, or radios
• Drive company or site vehicles if required, maintaining proper driving records and adherence to road safety regulations
• Report any security concerns or irregularities promptly to the appropriate authorities

Experience & Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in construction site security or a similar gateman/woman role
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Valid driving licence preferred to facilitate vehicle movement when necessary
• Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures is desirable
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently
