Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our supported accommodation team. The role involves supporting vulnerable adults who may have experienced homelessness, mental health challenges, social exclusion, substance misuse, or difficulties maintaining independent living.

The successful candidate will provide practical and emotional support to residents, helping them develop stability, independence, and confidence while maintaining a safe and positive living environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesResident Support

• Provide structured one-to-one support to residents in accordance with individual support plans
• Support residents with developing independent living skills and positive routines
• Encourage engagement with education, training, employment, and community services
• Build professional and respectful relationships with residents while maintaining clear boundaries

Tenancy Support

• Assist residents with understanding and maintaining their licence agreements
• Encourage residents to maintain their rooms and communal areas to an acceptable standard
• Support with budgeting, appointments, benefit-related tasks, and day-to-day responsibilities
• Promote personal responsibility and positive behaviour within the accommodation

Safeguarding & Wellbeing

• Monitor residents’ wellbeing and identify safeguarding concerns
• Respond appropriately to incidents, conflicts, or crisis situations
• Maintain accurate records, support notes, incident reports, and welfare checks
• Work in line with safeguarding, confidentiality, and company policies

Health & Social Inclusion

• Encourage residents to access:
• GP and healthcare services
• Mental health services
• Drug and alcohol support services where appropriate
• Promote wellbeing, social inclusion, and positive lifestyle choices

Property & Compliance

• Conduct room checks and welfare visits where required
• Report maintenance, health & safety, or property concerns promptly
• Support the service in maintaining a safe and compliant environment
• Assist management during inspections and audits if required

Essential Requirements

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with vulnerable adults in a calm and professional manner
• Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
• Ability to manage challenging situations appropriately
• Basic IT skills and ability to complete written records
• Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings or weekends where required
• Willingness to undertake DBS checks and mandatory training

Desirable Experience

• Experience within supported accommodation, housing support, care, or homelessness services
• Knowledge of mental health, substance misuse, or social care support
• Experience working with individuals with complex needs
• Full UK driving licence (desirable)

Pay: £24,420.00-£30,000.00 per year
