Offshore Medic

Helix Offshore Crewing Services Ltd. is seeking an experienced Offshore Medic to support construction and trenching vessels operating throughout the North Sea and European waters.

This is a key offshore role combining clinical expertise with operational and HSEQ support in a fast-paced maritime environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with onboard management, the HSEQ department, and onshore support teams to help maintain the highest standards of safety and care offshore.

Key responsibilities include:

Medical:

• Medical coverage on board on 24-hour basis.
• Ensure that the hospital facilities are maintained in a clean, hygienic and clinical fashion.
• Maintenance of First Aid and eye wash stations.
• Keeps accurate records of consultations and treatments.
• Monitors general well-being of personnel and condition of their environment.
• As team leader of medical party will hold regular training/instruction exercises with members of the team.
• Delivery of health-related advice and topics within safety meetings
• Review and advise on drugs & equipment inventories and advancement in medical equipment and techniques
• Ensure stretcher routes are adequately planned for casualty transfer to helideck
• Conducting face fit testing where required
• Conducting of shoulder width measurements if required

Administration:

• Entries into Medical Log following every consultation and assistance with completion of Accident Reports (especially where medical treatment has been provided)
• Assistance with vessel hazards hunt / inspections and delivery of report
• Assistance with documentation of weekly safety meeting minutes
• Assistance with QHSE related activities – QHSE audits,
• Any additional administration duties as delegated by the OM/QHSE Manager.
• Monitoring of HAVS data through Spacebands portal
• Maintenance of Safety Observation Card log to be included in daily reporting

Entry level requirements:

• HSE Offshore Medic Certification (Essential)
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) Qualification (Essential)
• Registered Nurse (RGN) qualification (Preferred)
• OEUK Medical Certificate or equivalent
• OPITO Survival or GWO Survival Qualification

Additional Training Requirements:

• Trauma care
• Advanced cardiac
• Food Hygiene
• Mental Health First Aid / Awareness
• NEBOSH NGC Level 3 or equivalent
• Face Fit Tester
• COSHH Assessor
