The Durham and Darlington Liaison and Diversion service are recruiting a Health and Well-being Worker to work alongside the Darlington Youth Justice Service. Liaison and diversion provides a work environment that is rewarding and provides ongoing support and development. You would be working with young people up to the age of 17 years who are within the youth justice service to improve their lives. This will include young people involved in anti-social behaviour, mental ill health, learning disabilities or substance misuse to aid recovery and well-being. You will be working with partner agencies Spectrum and Waythrough and with Darlington Youth Justice.

The post holder will offer advice and health promotion to service users and their families as well as delivering interventions to support recovery. They will also participate in co-operative and collaborative working between clients, health and social care staff, the criminal justice system and voluntary organisations and provide basic advice to ensure the best outcomes for service users. The role will involve participating with service users in the community and facilitating their engagement with other services.
This post is not open to trainees therefore the successful candidates must have completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent. Candidates must also have Literacy and Numeracy level 2 or equivalent and must complete the Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within their probationary period (first 6 months in role).
We have 2 health and wellbeing workers based in Darlington and Durham Youth Justice Teams. You will work alongside the Durham & Darlington Liaison and Diversion Team.
The post holder will be supported by professionals in partnership teams.
