We are The Bartlett, UCL’s global faculty of the built environment. Individually, our schools and sections lead their fields. In partnership, they develop new responses to pressing world issues. It is made up 12 Schools, Centres and Institutes, providing teaching and research in a wide range of subject areas to over 4,000 students each year from across the world. The post holder is part of the Faculty Education Administration and Student Experience team who work together in a close network of teams that support all our students. They will also work as part of one or several programme teams incorporating close working with professional services and academic staff.
This is available as a UCL Internal Secondment opportunity only until 30 March 2027. All external applications will be automatically rejected. You will coordinate administrative support for several PGR programmes and assist in achieving a high quality and timely service to current and prospective students and staff, as well as overseeing support for all matters relating to supervision and programme support activities. This includes from enquiry to pre-viva stage, managing the completion of tasks and processes relating to student and supervisor support, and the maintenance of programme records including engagement monitoring. You will line manage one administrator, and work closely alongside other team members to achieve consistent and high-quality PGR provision across all Bartlett depts. You will also work closely alongside departmental colleagues, especially Graduate Tutors, to provide an effective service. You will ensure effective procedures are adopted and documented for dealing with all aspects of the administration and achieve a high quality and timely service to current and prospective students and staff.
You will have substantial administrative experience in a busy office environment with good communication and interpersonal skills. You will have the ability to adapt and learn new systems, liaise with a variety of people and relate to staff and students in a teaching and learning context. You will be able to oversee the workload of a team, and have the ability to review and analyse information. You will be proactive with the ability to work independently and as a team. You will also be able to manage a busy workload and meet time-critical schedules whilst maintaining a commitment to high quality service. The role involves interaction with many people within and external to UCL and requires a proactive, highly organised, and efficient individual with a professional attitude, willingness to help, and the ability to work collaboratively and problem solve effectively.
