Rockit is a technical event production company delivering lighting, sound and AV across a wide range of events, venues and clients. A lot of our work takes place in Central London, but we operate across the UK wherever the work takes us.

The Role
This role sits between Technician and Project Manager, with a strong focus on technical delivery and project support.
As a Technical Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in planning and delivering projects, with a particular focus on the technical detail and on-site execution. You’ll support Project Managers on more complex jobs, while also taking ownership of smaller projects yourself.
You’ll be confident working with equipment, systems and technical planning, and comfortable leading on site when required. You’ll also build experience in project coordination, client communication and planning, developing towards full Project Manager responsibility over time if that’s the right direction for you.
This role suits someone who is technically strong, organised and ready to take on more responsibility, while continuing to develop their confidence across the wider project lifecycle.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the planning and delivery of projects, with a strong focus on technical detail and execution
- Contributing to equipment specification, system design and technical planning
- Assisting with quotes and project preparation, ensuring plans are accurate and well communicated
- Taking ownership of smaller projects from planning through to delivery
- Supporting Project Managers on larger or more complex projects
- Leading on site for smaller projects, and supporting delivery on larger ones
- Managing technicians, freelancers and contractors during builds, live events and de-rigs
- Remaining hands-on where needed and leading by example on site
- Making technical decisions and solving problems in real time
- Working confidently across lighting, sound, video and staging
- Working closely with Operations to ensure projects are well planned and resourced
- Communicating clearly with the wider team around plans, changes and requirements
- Speaking with clients where appropriate, particularly on projects you are leading
- Supporting positive client relationships through professional and clear communication
- Maintaining high standards across delivery, organisation and presentation
- Following health & safety processes and ensuring work is carried out safely
- Contributing to team communication, project debriefs and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
You will need:
- Experience within live events / technical production
- Strong working knowledge of at least one core discipline: lighting, sound or video
- Good overall technical understanding
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, or equivalent
- Confidence working on site and contributing to technical delivery
- Good organisational skills and ability to stay on top of multiple tasks
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt when plans change
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including manual handling and working at height
Nice to have:
- Broader technical knowledge across multiple disciplines
- Experience supporting or leading small projects
- Experience working within venue environments
- Awareness of project management or technical design software, such as Current RMS or similar
- CAD or technical design experience
- IPAF, First Aid or relevant industry qualifications
Additional Requirements
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays
- Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- This is an in-person role based from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, with on-site work as required
The Essentials
Role: Technical Project Manager
Hours: 40 hours per week, flexibility required
Salary: £33,000–£38,000, depending on experience
Reports to: Director of Growth & Development
Location: Cheshunt, Hertfordshire EN8, and on-site work
Pay: £33,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
