The Teaching Assistant Job

The successful Teaching Assistant applicant will join a dedicated team in a fantastic SEN school in Ealing that provides for pupils aged 11-19 as a Teaching Assistant. Your teaching assistant role will involve creating a safe environment where young people can thrive. For this teaching assistant job I am seeking intelligent, resilient and intuitive individuals who can implement tailored strategies to promote the development of social skills and communication and drive academic progress.

The Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

• Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
• Promote pupil’s independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
• Delivering independent life skills training and work related experiences
• Guide pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
• Assist with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons
• Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to enhance the work of the teacher and increase achievement of all pupils
• Promote and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
• Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policy and procedures
