Hackney
Start: September 2026(Earlier July 2026 start available)
Full-time | Long-term Opportunity
£120 per day, increasing after 12 weeks
SANZA Teaching Agency is working exclusively with a welcoming and highly respected primary school in Hackney to recruit an experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant for their Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP).
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled practitioner with strong SEND experience to take on a key role supporting pupils with autism and complex needs across EYFS and Key Stage 1.
The school is looking for someone who can confidently lead learning, support colleagues, and contribute meaningfully to the ongoing development of the provision.
You may be asked to cover classes from time to time alongside your duties in the ARP.
About the Role
As HLTA within the ARP, you will be central to creating a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment where children can thrive.
You will work closely with teaching staff and therapists, lead targeted interventions, and support pupils’ communication, social, emotional, and academic development.
For the right candidate, the school can offer an earlier start in July 2026 to allow time for transition and preparation ahead of the new academic year.
The Successful Candidate Will:
* Hold HLTA status or have substantial experience working at HLTA level
* Have a strong background supporting children with autism and additional complex needs
* Be confident delivering interventions and leading small-group or whole-class sessions
* Demonstrate knowledge of strategies such as sensory regulation, communication systems, and positive behaviour support
* Have a solid understanding of child development within EYFS and KS1
* Be calm, proactive, adaptable, and solution-focused
* Be committed to inclusive education and achieving positive outcomes for every pupil
What the School Can Offer:
* A caring and experienced leadership team
* A well-established and well-resourced ARP setting
* Opportunities to contribute to the growth and development of specialist provision
* A cooperative and inclusive school community
* A rewarding role where you can make a lasting difference to children’s lives
This role would suit an experienced HLTA looking to step into a position with greater responsibility within a specialist educational setting.
