*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Construction Assistant to support our construction team in various administrative and operational tasks. This role is essential for ensuring that projects run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
*Responsibilities*
– Provide administrative support to the construction team, including data entry and clerical tasks.
– Manage office duties such as filing, organising documents, and maintaining project records.
– In charge of placing orders with suppliers for materials needed on site. Co-ordinating between site and supplier to ensure smooth deliveries. Organised record keeping of orders going in.
– Handle phone communications with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
– Utilise Xero to ensure invoices are uploaded and check supplier statements monthly.
– Maintain an organised workspace and ensure that all office supplies are stocked.
– Support the team in preparing reports and presentations
– Collaborate with team members to ensure all project requirements are met in a timely manner.
*Qualifications*
– Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role is preferred.
– Proficiency in computerised systems, including data entry and office software
– Familiarity with Xero is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided.
– Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
– A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
