Interim Management Accountant job at London Full Time NEW

Global Accounting Network is partnering with a PE-backed multi-site business who are looking for an experienced Interim Management Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the business with preparing management accounts for month, quarter, and year end with a particular focus on lease accounting under IFRS 16. This will initially be a 6 month contract with the possibility of extension or being made permanent depending on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the property accounting expert for IFRS 16 lease accounting, ensuring correct interpretation and application of the standard
• Review complex lease agreements, research treatment under IFRS 16, and implement appropriate accounting treatment.
• Prepare monthly accounting entries for property leases under IFRS 16.
• Support the year end delivery of external auditors’ requirements, ensuring all auditor requests related to lease accounting and property are effectively managed, delivered within the appropriate timeframe and to a high standard, acting as a key PoC for auditors.
• Prepare management accounts for month end.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of financial planning and analysis capabilities.

Qualifications / Ideal Profile

• ACA/ACCA or CIMA Qualified is a must (Big 4 is a plus)
• 2-3 years PQE – preferably in a multisite, retail or hospitality business.
• Proven experience working with lease accounting under IFRS 16 in a multi-site business.
• Experience working with Agresso or Horizon leasing Software is a plus
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Immediately Available (2 week notice period maximum ideally.
