Advanced Healthcare Science Assistant

12 months Fixed Term/ Secondment

A vacancy for a 12-month fixed term advanced healthcare science assistant working in a small laboratory team based in the Photobiology Unit at Ninewells Hospital has arisen.

In this post, you will perform various tasks in the Scottish Cutaneous Porphyria Service laboratory, processing patient samples and maintaining electronic and written records. The post-holder will be responsible for carrying out a defined set of protocol-driven laboratory procedures to prepare specimens for testing as well as monitoring and maintaining stocks of laboratory reagents and consumables. Excellent communication skills are essential for this post to maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues from various disciplines.

The posts are graded at Band 3, and consideration will be given to applicants with excellent IT skills, numeracy and scientific knowledge.

Work hours are 36 per week, delivered Monday to Friday between 0830 to 1630.
