Job Overview: 6 week temporary role (with opportunity to join on permanent basis)
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Coffee Shop Assistant to join our team. Previous barista experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and customer service, and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Must be available to start training week commencing 22nd June.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and serve customers with a positive and helpful attitude
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffee drinks
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment safely and efficiently
- Handle customer payments
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the café area, including counters, tables, and equipment
- Restock shelves, fridges, and display cases with food and beverage items
- Assist in receiving and organizing deliveries
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and store policies
- Support other team members and contribute to a positive team atmosphere
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a café or customer service role preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Flexibility to work varying shifts Monday to Friday 7.30am to 3.30pm.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and reliable attitude
Desirable:
- Barista training or knowledge of coffee preparation techniques
- Food hygiene certification
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.75 per hour
