TRANSPORT COORDINATOR

£36,000 per annum
Full Time | Permanent
Monday to Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm One Saturday morning in four
About Us
Chris Wright Baildon Ltd is a well-established specialist transport, lifting and installation company providing HIAB hire, heavy transport, contract lifting, machinery movement and installation services throughout the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Transport Coordinator to join our operations team at our Baildon depot.
The Role
This is a key position within the business, working closely with our Transport Manager and wider operations team to coordinate a busy and varied fleet operation.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring jobs are delivered safely, efficiently and to the high standards our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating daily transport operations
- Liaising with drivers, customers and suppliers
- Scheduling and allocating work to vehicles
- Monitoring vehicle movements and delivery progress
- Managing customer enquiries and providing updates
- Supporting transport compliance and administration
- Assisting with permits, notifications and specialist transport requirements
- Working closely with our installations and lifting teams
- Maintaining accurate operational records and systems
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience within a transport, logistics or haulage environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- A proactive approach to problem solving
- Good IT skills and experience using operational systems
- Professional and confident telephone manner
- Ability to work as part of a close-knit team
Desirable
- Experience within specialist transport, HIAB, crane hire or heavy haulage
- Knowledge of transport planning systems
- Understanding of driver hours and transport compliance requirements
